- Columbia Machine was founded in 1955, by Henry Nichols. In 1974 John Sol began working part-time, and has continued from there.
- 1962 Columbia Machine received our first of many contracts with the United States Government. This contract was for a conventional style coin press. Then in 1964 we were awarded the contract for the new designed coin press.
- 1973 Columbia Machine contracted with the Japanese government for an updated coin press.
- 1974 Columbia Machine designed one of the first Columbia style Rimmers, the 6500 series. These rimmers are still used today.
- 1975 Columbia Machine designed the 180 Ton coining press.
- 1988 Columbia Machine designed and sold proof rimmer to United States Government. This rimmer has air tracks, for the least amount of coin damage.
- 1991 Columbia Machine designed the 6550 HS VS rimming machine. This machine is known to be the fastest in the world. The Philadelphia and Denver US. Mints are proud owners.
- 1995 Columbia Machine designed a dial feed coin press capable of minting 50mm coins.
- 1997 Columbia Machine designed a token and coin destruction machine capable of destroying 60,000 coins per hour.
- 2001 Columbia Machine developed 6500VS rimmer. This rimmer has a single bowl with speed up to 6,500 coins per minute.
